Building a show car part 5 audio and entertainment system
The car audio system is one of the categories on the judging sheet, so even if you are not into sounds make sure you save up and invest into a good one if you don't want a zero on this section. Each year more and more show cars are being fitted with crazy sound systems and the only way to compete is to get one yourself. A basic box and an amp won't cut it anymore. An example of a good setup would be 3 or 4 12 inch sub woofers sealed in their own custom fibreglass enclosure that is painted to match the colour of your car, 2 chrome amps, capacities, equalizers, kick panels, tweeters and head unit. This kind of crazy sound system sounds like it will only work in an exotic/ extreme custom car but even if you are going for the racy look you still need a descent sound system even though a racing car wouldn't have all this audio equipment in it.
To gain maximum marks you also need an entertainment system. For a crazy setup this should include at least 1 TV monitor best mounted in the centre console of the car, one of the latest games consoles like Xbox 360, Playstation 3 or Nintendo wii, although this last one might be difficult to play without smashing up most of your TV screens. The entertainment system should also include sat nav and a TV tuner that must be able to tune into Trisha (well maybe not that last one). Whatever you have for a system make sure it looks clean and there aren't wires everywhere.
